Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ is held at Reliant Stadium every year in February-March. Stay at the Hotel Indigo Houston hotel when you are in town for this exciting and entertaining event! We are located just 15 minutes from Reliant Park Stadium!
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a charity that has been benefitting the youth of Texas since 1932 and has contributed millions to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and other educational and youth programs.
The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is a 20-day event that starts with the Downtown Rodeo Roundup, held near Houston City Hall, the Downtown Rodeo Parade and the Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run. The Houston Livestock Show is the largest in the world and holds the records in all junior market auction categories.
The Rodeo Houston features only the top cowboys and cowgirls; is the world’s largest rodeo; features seven events: bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and tie-down roping; and awards more than $1.5 million in prize money!
During this event, the concert stages host legends and superstars of all kinds. Some of the greats who have performed include Selena, Julio Iglesias, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Bill Cosby, Wynonna, George Strait, and Brooks & Dunn.
The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is a 3-day event where more than 250 teams vie to be the champs. This is a hot ticket; usually admission is by invitation only!
